How Long Does It Take To Wrap An Entire Vehicle?
For every product one can purchase, there will always be a much cheaper option that will be just as good quality-wise, or even better. In customizing your vehicle whether for personal or business purposes, vehicle wraps are always the best way to go.
If you are planning on getting your vehicle wrapped, surely you must have questions about the process–the most common one being: How long does it take to wrap an entire vehicle?
Once the wrap design for your vehicle is complete, and the vinyl is printed, your vehicle is ready for its makeover. Although the mentioned processes may take time especially because deciding how your vehicle will look challenging, installing the vehicle wrap will be much quicker as it can take up to 1 to 5 days. The main factors for this would be the size of the vehicle, the complexity of the vehicle or design, and how much of the vehicle is wrapped.
Typical Installation Schedule
Most vehicle wrapping businesses achieve what they do best in 1-5 days. Before installing the wrap, the vehicles are dropped off to ensure these things:
- The dryness of the vehicle for the wrap to be installed properly
- The temperature of the vehicle surface for proper graphics adhesion (warmed or cooled depending on the outdoor temperature)
After 24 hours of making sure the vehicle is in the proper temperature, the vehicle is then typically cleaned properly to prepare it for the wrap installation. Only then can the vehicle wrap be applied when the vehicle itself is cleaned.
Every square inch of the wrap should be applied by hand using special tools. When the wrap is to be installed, it will require experience, training, and skill to achieve the best quality. Once wrapped, the installed will do a 360 degree review of the vehicle to make sure that everything is properly in its place and all vinyl is adhered to the vehicle without a flaw.
Lastly, after having the review, a 12-24 hour cure time will be given for the adhesive on the vehicle wrap to set. This part of the process will depend on the climate and outdoor temperatures. It is recommended that vinyl adhesive be allowed to set at 50+ degrees before using the vehicle. The vehicle will then be ready for pick-up once the adhesive has set.
Logo and Text Graphics Installation Schedule
For “placed” logos or laser cut graphics, the process is shortened from 1-2 days. Most often when the vehicle is dropped off in the morning, it can be ready for pick up at the end of the day or the next morning. Again, this will depend on the climate and outdoor temperature because the vehicle is required to be in the normal temperature for better setting of the adhesive.
